Meet the Judges

Roby McEuen

Co-Creative Director
robeegraffix advertising design, llc

A designer, educator and washboard player, Roby has been partnering with clients and teaching the next generation of visual problem solvers for a long time.

Besides sharing the day-to-day creative duties of the firm with Gina, Roby teaches communication graphics as a Specialist at The University of Texas Arlington, in the Department of Communication. He holds a Masters of Arts in Advertising Design from Syracuse University. His thesis is on Creating Environments that Inspire Creativity: A Look Inside The Richards Group, Pentagram Design and Fossil Watches.

The resident typophile of the company, Roby can name most typefaces just by looking at them, or at the very least, classify them based on the anatomy of the letterforms. This may not sound very exciting, but considering every communication project has typography as a component, he’s not a bad guy to have around.

Roby is detail oriented and never throws away any scrap of paper, especially if it has something written on it.

Silver Cuellar

Art Director
Firehouse

Silver Cuellar is an Arsonist/ACD/Art Director/Beard Enthusiast at Firehouse in Dallas, Texas.

He got there by cutting his teeth at such agencies as McGarrah Jessee, Mullen, The Richards Group, TM Advertising, and by threatening to eat a co-worker’s daughter who dared to try and play with one of his treasured He-Man collectibles.

Occasionally he art directs, adopts pound pups, and takes his Lady for food you have to eat with an outstretched pinky. Frequently, he grows out his mustache to compete at the amateur level for prizes such as Ipods, Itunes gift cards, and styling mousses for the aforementioned moustache.

His work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Clios, Archive, and The One Show, and yet never by any members of his family as they have no idea what he does for a living. Questioning even, why he couldn’t end up like his handsome classmate from elementary school, Jory Lange, who “wears preppy clothes,” “passes the Bar on the first try,” and is now “practicing law with a real job.”

That is all.
