Alexandre Gama, the Successful Advertising and Brazilian Businessman

Alexandre Gama is a well-established advertising businessman who hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since 1999, Mr. Gama has served as the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Neogama, one of the top 20 largest leading advertising agencies in Brazil. When Alexandre Gama was CEO of BBH, he was considered to be the first Brazilian at the forefront of a global network of communication agencies. Currently, Gama is the only Brazilian that is part of the Global Creative Board, a committee consisting of six creative leaders from the global Publicis Groupe holding company.

 

Alexandre Gama Career Background

Gama holds a degree in Advertising and Propaganda from FAAP(Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado). Alexandre kick started his career as a writer in 1982 at the Standart Ogilvy agency. Afterwards, in 1990, he progressed as a copywriter at DM9and during his four-year stay he received numerous best writer awards in Brazil. Between 1996 and 1999, Gama served as a VP of creation and partner at AlmapBBDO agency and the President of Young & Rubicam.

As of 2008, Gama was the only Latin American in Brazil to hold a master Magna class in France which is usually held by a graduate of the area at the Cannes Film Festival. As of 2017, Alexandre Gama has won 26 Lions at the Cannes Film Festival and has been judged three times by the Festival in the Film and Press categories. In 2007, Gama received the Caboré Award of Entrepreneur / Manager of the Communication Industry of the Year award. In 2012, he became a Board member of the Brazilian Association of Advertising Agencies (ABAP) which is solely responsible for publicizing and defending the interests of Brazilian agencies in the communication industry.
